Silvia Barbotto

Postdoctoral researcher Fellow for ERC Project FACETS, contract professor in University of Turin in Master’s degree ‘Communication and Media cultures’ of the course ‘Interactive storytelling and art’. PhD in ‘Art: research and production’ (2014, San Carlos, Valencia, Spain) and graduated in Communication, University of Turin (2004, Italy). She is now researching in areas as Semiotic of cultures, art and body, bio semiotic: faces are the main topic, perception and cultural use of senses through face, portrait and self-portrait in art, oriental-occidental comparative physiognomic, artificial agency and multimedia languages, neurophysiology and narrativity. Artist and yogini, her research joins academic semiotic research and aesthetic/experimental practices.
